Infinity War

I’ve watched the Hulk/Thanos fight several times and it just seems there is something wrong with the Hulk. I can’t put my finger on it, but it just seems as if the Hulk is not his Hulking self. That he won’t come out later in the movie indicates there is something wrong. But I don’t think it has anything to do with being beaten by Thanos. It’s something going back a little farther.

Nor do I buy into the speculation that Loki is actually pretending to be Bruce Banner/Hulk. How, exactly, would that not be noticed by Dr. Strange – Master of the Mystic Arts? In “Thor – Ragnarok” Dr. Strange is able to sense Loki’s presence on Earth without even being in his presence. You think he’s not going to sense him from at less than 5 feet away? Exactly.

Anyway, I think the problem is that Bruce is no longer “always angry.” The Hulk will only come out when Bruce is angry. So my guess is that when Bruce finally gets angry again, Hulk comes out a hell of a lot more powerful than when he first took on Thanos.

Of course, like all the other posts on the internet about this subject, this is all just speculation. And I’m pretty sure I’m wrong. But, you know, what the hell. It’s just speculation. And it would be foolish not to speculate.

The Day After

Yeah, yesterday’s runs and walks kicked my ass. I foolishly pushed myself farther in the first run than I should have. As a result, I was exceedingly wiped out. I ended up taking over an hour nap. I also slept hard last night, dreaming for the first time in a long time. Or perhaps I should say, I remember my dream for the first time in a long time. Not that my dreams make any sense. Time and place are always fungible and hazy.

In this case I managed to get a job working for the White House. I couldn’t tell you what the hell I did. I seemed to be liked by the higher-ups, and when it was time for a new administration to come in, I was assured  I would still have a job. Yet I was hesitant to accept re-employment. Eventually, after talking to Tina, I decided to keep stay with the job. That’s when things got difficult. I couldn’t connect with the head woman who did the hiring, and who wanted me to stay in the first place. She kept going from one function to another.

Anyway, I finally woke up because Smokey decided it was time to play with the lampshade. So I am up, having given the spoiled felines their morning treat, set-up the coffee pots (Tina and I like different strengths of coffee), and am now typing away on this post. Well, for those of you reading it I am sure I am way past the point of typing. See, time if fungible.

I’m A Sharing!

This is just a quick post to test the social sharing of Jetpack, a plugin for WordPress that automatically shares my posts with all sorts of social media.

Morning All!

Testing My New Plugin

I’m playing around with the various abilities of Gutenberg, the plugin that is soon to be standard for WordPress, the server side program that allows me to publish my blog.

It gives more control over individual aspects of the page. I can control the settings per paragraph. As you can see I am able to have a different background color for every paragraph. I even get to choose different text color per graph. For the purpose of illustrating only. Trust me, I’ll not be playing around like this for every post. Chances are I’ll not even use most of what is offered, or do so in a limited manner.

I can assure you most of my posts will have white background and black type. Golly gee. This is going to be so much fun.

Rough Draft #2

So, I have this rough draft of a novel I finished back around 2007 or 2008. It’s hand written. Couldn’t begin to tell you how many words or pages. I have attempted to type it into an electronic file only to have my internal critic make the whole process painful.

Now I’m starting fresh. I remember the general story and I know some of the timeline issues I need to resolve, like one character’s illness. It appeared suddenly at a point in the book after other scenes were created that should have brought it to light then.

Oh, and now I’m typing it instead of writing it by hand. We’ll see how that goes. I’ve committed myself to writing 200 words per day. I managed a little over 400 for my first day.

I get in a hurry. When I write. My brain gets impatient and I find myself losing the thread. So, with the Mindfulness techniques I have learned I’m going to take it easy. Hell. The rough draft has been sitting untouched for going on 12 years. What’s the hurry now?

Trying Out Beta

Nothing all that important needing to be posted. I'm just trying out the beta posting portion of the WordPress app. It has some cool functionality. Oh, and I wrote this post on my phone.

New Addon for Firefox

I have a new grammar, spell check, and punctuation addon for Firefox. It proofs as I write, giving me all sorts of suggestions and corrections. So far I’m liking it! Hoping it will help improve my posts.

Huh. It appears I’ve got several “Advanced Issues” that don’t get corrected unless I upgrade. Honestly, with school fast approaching it wouldn’t hurt to have an advanced proof writing app.

iPhone Camera Problems

Well, it seems that WordPress and the iPhone Camera don’t communicate well. In fact, not at all. I like to switch from Portrait to Landscape (you know, turn the phone sideways) when taking picturtes. Unfortunately, it seems WordPress doesn’t, or can’t, read the orientation information that is embedded in the photo. So, all the pictures I took sideways are showing up sideways. Anyway, instead of posting a ton of pictures all at once here on my blog, I just posted them all directly on Facebook.

I’d rather post them here. But, until I figure out how to get WordPress to show them properly, I guess it’s to Facebook I go.

Still, let me show you one.

Deleted and Rearranged Menus

Okay, I did a bit of cleaning up. The old menu selection in the black below the above pictures needed to be cleaned out. The old link pages were woefully out of date and I simply did not want to take the time to update them. So “BANG!” I deleted them. Next? Well, I rearranged them. So, now I’m hoping people will take a look at what I have for static pages.

Enjoy.

New App For My New Computer

So, I picked up a new iMac. I’m getting ready to return to college. Online college. And my MacBook Air just wasn’t going to cut it. I have to say, I’m glad to have made the switch from Window machines to Apple. They just run better.

Anyway, I picked up a new app that allows me to do posts from my computer without having to go to the Dashboard of my site. Very nice. One of the problems I always had with doing posts was going to the slow, clunky interface of the WordPress dashboard installed on the server of Omnis. It doesn’t necessarily have all the bells and whistles that the interface has on the server, but at least the response time is quicker.

Another nice thing about this app is that I can also follow other wordpress blogs. I am trying to follow Wil Wheaton, but it seems that though his site is powered by WordPress, it doesn’t seem to be registered with WordPress. Go figure.

Well, that’s enough for now.
