Today’s run.
Incremental Marathon

Today’s run.
For use when I really don’t have time to figure out to what category the post should belong.
Today’s run.
I did two workouts today. My first was a bike ride.
The second was a run.
I decided to cross the St. Louis River into Superior. It’s a tougher ride over to Wisconsin than back. It’s a long uphill pedal to the east.
So, after yesterday’s adventure in bicycling, today I decided to go for a run. I did 45 minutes. After that, I did a little short of 4 minutes cool down walk. The maps are below.
I’ve not taken the time to create a post for this blog in quite a while. And this post is not really going to be all that impressive. Mostly I’m going to talk about meditation.
And that is the stool I meditate upon. I am not limber like many people. I cannot sit cross-legged at all. So, obviously the lotus and semi-lotus are totally out of the question. Oh, and despite having built the thing mostly from my head, and having used hand-tools, I managed to get it lined up enough to stay balanced. Well, that is, if I shake the top cushion in a manner that distributes the barley husks properly.
Anyway, tonight I took the time to meditate. I set my timer for 25 minutes. Ever since I built this stool, I’ve struggled with doing 45 minutes. That is because when I meditated in a chair I would fall in and out of sleep. So sitting for 45 minutes was easy.
However, with the stool, I cannot fall asleep. I would lose my balance and fall down – which I did once shortly after I created the stool. So, because I don’t fall asleep, it is harder for me to stay focused and make it to 45 minutes. In fact, it can be agonizing. To be honest, I’ve not managed more than 30 minutes before I need to quit.
So, imagine my surprise when my Apple Watch timer goes off while I’m half-deep in meditation. That has not happened for quite some time. I cannot even recall when it last happened. Usually I get antsy 5 to 10 minutes before the time is up, looking at my watch to see how much time is left.
So, it was a good meditation session. Oh, and I managed 25 minutes. That is an improvement since I was struggling with even 15 minutes.
Here goes an attempt to share with my blog.
Well, it didn’t actually work out. Runkeeper could not share the map. So it’s back to saving the picture into a file to upload to here at a later date.
Okay, maybe running over 7 miles yesterday wasn’t the best thought-out idea. My body certainly is giving me a piece of its mind. And it’s using four-letter words I’ve never heard before. Rather insulting, to say the least.
If your significant other does not warn you about the evils of wearing black socks with shorts, they don’t love you.
I want to mourn for the world
The one we have lost
I want to wail to the heavens
Loudly
A cry of agony
To render even star song silent.
I want to mourn for the world
Sadness
