Infinity War

I’ve watched the Hulk/Thanos fight several times and it just seems there is something wrong with the Hulk. I can’t put my finger on it, but it just seems as if the Hulk is not his Hulking self. That he won’t come out later in the movie indicates there is something wrong. But I don’t think it has anything to do with being beaten by Thanos. It’s something going back a little farther.

Nor do I buy into the speculation that Loki is actually pretending to be Bruce Banner/Hulk. How, exactly, would that not be noticed by Dr. Strange – Master of the Mystic Arts? In “Thor – Ragnarok” Dr. Strange is able to sense Loki’s presence on Earth without even being in his presence. You think he’s not going to sense him from at less than 5 feet away? Exactly.

Anyway, I think the problem is that Bruce is no longer “always angry.” The Hulk will only come out when Bruce is angry. So my guess is that when Bruce finally gets angry again, Hulk comes out a hell of a lot more powerful than when he first took on Thanos.

Of course, like all the other posts on the internet about this subject, this is all just speculation. And I’m pretty sure I’m wrong. But, you know, what the hell. It’s just speculation. And it would be foolish not to speculate.

Excellent!

Music in the US of A is rather underwhelming for me at this time. Corporate control has reduced the spontaneity and creativity of music writing. Instead, I am forced to listen to formulic re-packaging of old themes and styles without anything new and fresh coming along to catch my interest.

So, imagine my surprise when an A Cappella group covers June Carter’s “Ring of Fire” and nails it in a refreshingly new manner.

Home Free has a novel approach to an old standard. They’re not attempting to mimic Johnny Cash, but instead pay tribute to him while still infusing their own character and joy into music they obviously love.

Ah, The Classics!

A great start to a Monday Morning!

New Show

Well, for me anyway. I’ve been getting into “True Detective” since I have HBO Now through Apple TV. It’s blowing me away. The acting is phenomenal and the story outstanding. Yes, I know, I’m late to the party. I don’t care. Despite its success and all the chatter about it on the web, I’ve managed to avoid spoilers.

Buying my Apple TV box has given me one pleasant surprise after another. I haven’t even begun to mine all the free stuff available. On top of that, I can watch past episodes of network series that I’ve missed, especially “Castle.” Granted, I have to pay a small fee, usually around $3.00 or $4.00 per episode, but it’s fine by me.

I’m also considering purchasing the entire series of “The Avatar – The Last Airbender.” Sure, it’s a kid’s cartoon from Nickelodeon, but it’s also a great story, with some pretty intelligent writing in between the children oriented humor. Also, at the end of the series, it had excellent music as well.

However, for now, I’m going to just focus on “True Detective” and worry about spending money later.
