Today’s Run

Yeah, I paid for those days off. I have sore left thigh muscles. And my pace was way high. But that’s to be expected. There was between a quarter to a half of inch of snow on the pavement, plus I ran on the upper trail which also had thin ice covering over puddles of water and mud. These account for both the high pace and the sore muscles. But I’ll live – with the aid of some Aleve. Anyway, to the stats!

Running Break

I needed to let my body fight off an illness. Not sure what it was, but it had me dragging. I struggled with sleep and I had little to no energy. So, I took 5 days off. I am going to bundle up and go for a run soon. Meanwhile, here are the stats from my last run.

This Outside My Window

I guess winter is here.

School Project Completed!

I had to interview a teen between the ages of 13 and 17. As I’m a 57-year-old man, that age group is not one I interact with often. My choices were slim to none. But, one of those choices was my 17-year-old niece. The interview was around her online social media use. I managed to write a 3 and a half page (Arial, 12 pt font, double-spaced) paper. I feel pretty confident about how I did. Now, I have to read someone’s post for this week’s subject and write a response.

5 Days On

I ended up with a stomach bug mid-week that kept me both off the pavement and home from work on Thursday. Even yesterday I still wasn’t 100%. Today, though, I felt up to a run. I chose a route that attacked elevation in the first mile and a half. Map and stats:

Note how steady my heart rate was despite the fluctuations in both pace and elevation.

Late Night Meaningless Post

All things considered, I’d rather be living the life of leisure I know I’ve always wanted to grow accustomed to. Unfortunately it means winning the lottery and that just doesn’t seem to be happening.

Once Again The Pounding of the Pavement

Today’s Run

Not too bad considering I hadn’t run since Wednesday, and that I was ill through most of the week. Feeling better today. And the run was good.

Running Update

So, I did manage a couple of morning runs this past week. Unfortunately, after that I was hit with a stomach bug. I figure it was either the Tomato Basil Bisque soup I had at work, or it was a mild reaction to the flu shot I had on Monday. In either case it waylaid my running for a few days. I last ran on Wednesday the 24th. The plan this morning is to go for a simple run and then take Tina out for breakfast.

Anyway, here are the maps and stats for the last two runs:

Today’s Phenominal Run

I am not sure how this happened. I certainly had no intent on pushing myself hard. Indeed, my heart rate shows I clearly did not push myself much beyond my normal effort. So, color me surprised that I set all sorts of new records. Enough of words, here are the pictures:

Infamous Run of 10/20/2018!
As you can see, my first three miles were of normal pace. However, after that all sorts of increased speed without increased effort occurred. I’m surprised myself.
As you can see, the majority of my run stayed within the Aerobic zone. So, obviously my body was not being pushed beyond any normal limits.

Here, now, are my new personal records:

I know the route stated nine records, but one is just a repeat calories record and I didn’t feel the need to have it posted here.
