I’m going to brave the thunderstorm that is threatening outside.
I’m going to brave the thunderstorm that is threatening outside.
After taking a day off I didn’t do to bad on my run today. I’m still recovering from the 8 miles I ran on Sunday so I am pleasantly surprised I managed a 9 minute 38 second mile. After going 3 miles in roughly 30 minutes I did a .77 mile walk to cool down. I decided to go up on the west side of Norton Park and find my way back home through the woods behind the house. Surprisingly there were only a few mosquitoes.
Words are insufficient to describe how my life is better with you in it, Tina. You are the reason I wake up in the morning. You are the reason I come home after work. I live for those moments when you experience simple joy; the perfect meal, the beautiful walk, the wonderful movie. And though I may pick on you, and tease you, it is because you are the love of my life.

So, it’s off to mow the lawn. It’s been getting a bit out of hand. What with the rain and blowsery* weather I have not taken it to task. Since I’ve little to no hills but for the back yard it’s not really much of a physical chore. Well, there is the hauling of the cuttings to the compost pen in the back yard. But that’s what where the cart comes in handy. So, while I slave away you all have yourselves a merry Sunday.
*Yes, I know blowsery isn’t a word. Yet you know exactly what I mean!
Fridays, that is. Always a pain because of the short turn-a-round from getting off of work at 9:00 PM on Thursday night and having to be into work at 8:00 AM Friday morning. So, now it’s off to the shower. Type to you all later.
Actually, it went away. By the time I hit the 3 mile mark of my run the sun started showing through and the temperature started moving up. I ended up taking off my rain poncho and carrying it for my walk.
That’s right. I only ran for 3 miles and then walked the remaining distance home. After two days of 44 minute runs I took a break.
I’m going running in the rain. What a glorious feeling – running in the rain.
Actually, it’s already simmering down to a light sprinkle. It’s the temperature that’s a bit disconcerting. But only a bit. I’ve got the gear to deal with it. See you on the other side.
It would appear that Smokey and I are at loggerheads. He continues to believe my toes are his personal toys. I have made it clear they are not. It seems I have a cat that is not respecting my boundaries. This is unacceptable. Especially since he chooses to act as if he doesn’t understand me at all. I hope I haven’t gotten an immigrant feline that doesn’t speak English. Also unacceptable.
There ought be a wall…… errrr, I mean law.
Our new kitten is going ape shit crazy. And even worse? He’s decided my toes are his own personal play toys! The little shit. Anyway, here on my blog, for the first time, is a blurry picture of the new addition to our home: Smokey!
Well, at least during the run. After the run I sat on the deck and meditated, listening to both the music through my ear buds and to the sounds of traffic and the birds. It mostly drizzled, but towards the end it was a very light shower. It was quiet refreshing and relaxing.
Now it’s off to the rest of my day. You all have a good day yourselves.
